M Series Fine Grinder
The Prater M Series of Fine Grinders are ideal for maximum size reduction of almost any free-flowing material from 20 mesh to low micron range particles. It operates with very low temperature rise and is particularly well suited for heat sensitive materials. It works in both negative and positive air systems. Six sizes from lab model to 200 HP are available in mild or stainless steel. Complete fine grinding systems are also available. Designed for a close tolerance between the rotor blades and the grinding jaw/screen frame assembly to produce a more uniform and finer grind. The larger screen to horsepower ratio allows for more capacity. Dual "0" ring seals on the large access door and outboard bearings allow for better dust control. Removing one bolt allows quick removal of the rotor which is reversible. Rotor blades are easily replaced without further rotor balancing needed.
Sanitary Fine Grinder
The U.S.D.A. dairy approved Sanitary Fine Grinder is manufactured from stainless steel with all internal surfaces and components fully welded, ground smooth and polished. A large access door allows quick inspection and ease of cleaning and/or removal of internal components. Outboard bearings and dual "0" ring door seals maintain a complete sanitary condition. Rotor blades are made from a special stainless steel alloy for extra strength and life.
CLM-Series Classifier Mills
The Prater CLM Series is ideal for maximum size reduction of almost any material from 50 mesh to very low micron range particles with internal separation and recirculation of oversize particles. It operates with very low temperature rise and is particularly well suited for heat sensitive materials. Five sizes are available from a mini lab system to 200 HP. Difficult to grind materials, and those that require a finer grind and/or a narrower particle distribution curve than practical in the M Series mills, often require the unique capabilities of the CLM Classifier Mill. The large access door on these mills allow for quick inspection and/or cleaning of the main rotor as well as the classifier rotor. CLM mills feature outboard bearings and double "0" ring seals on the access door which allows them to be more dust free than other types of find grinding equipment. The parallel classifier rotor design with its separate motor and drive assembly allows for a more uniform particle size distribution.
CLM-18 Classifier Mill Lab system
The CLM-18 lab grinding system provides fine grinding capabilities for customer in-plant product development, testing, or low volume production where very fine grinds are required. This compact system comes complete with steel cabinet on casters for easy moving, a CLM-18 Classifier Mill with drive, feed hopper, vibrating feeder, high efficiency cyclone collector, product container, and a high pressure blower with a completely computerized control panel. It is available in 304 or 316 stainless steel. The system can be operated by one person, and provides the ability to determine the most cost-efficient processing methods and equipment necessary to meet large scale processing needs. The controls provided allow finite adjustment of the mill speed, feeder capacity, air adjustments, etc. which gives the operator the ability to fine tune the system to meet exacting requirements. Typical applications include pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food processing, powder coatings, plastics and synthetics. The system will accept particles up to 1/8" and can provide finished grinds from 150 microns to 3 microns.
